The 6.15 at Chelmsford is a trappy little event and there wouldn’t be too much between these on their best form. I’m taking a punt on LORD RIDDIFORD in the hope that a small break from the course has just freshened him up so he can try and go a place or two better than on his previous runs. He looks a pretty solid horse and is consistent on the whole so I would hope he can give his running tonight. He does have to reverse form with Nigel Nott but gets a big swing in the weights for a narrow defeat and I would certainly fancy him to reverse that form.
Chelmsford 6.15 Lord Riddiford
Saturday
It’s not my sort of Saturday if truth be told as the heavy ground is quite off putting. It could turn ugly so if you are having a punt, make sure you’re on a mudlark. One horse who seemed to cope with the heavy ground last time out was LIGHTLY SQUEEZE. He steps up in trip today but he has won over this trip before so it shouldn’t be a problem and his run last time out is solid form. It’s probably the best hurdles form on offer here and given he is proven on track, trip, ground and grade I find it very hard to believe he is as big as 11/2. He’s a solid each way play.
