It was a bitter pill to swallow for backers of GETARIVER when she tied up in the final 100 yards at Stratford last time out. She had the race in the bag until fatigue struck and she got collared late on. Up until then though she looked certain to prove her mark of 121 very lenient and I see no reason why a 2lb hike shouldn’t stop her here.
Once a classy bumper horse, if someone were to ask me what her mark would be in 2 seasons time, I certainly wouldn’t have said low 120’s and to be fair to the mare, she hasn’t done a great deal wrong.
She should continue her ascendency up the handicap ranks today albeit she will have her hands full.
