I think it’s very interesting that Kim Bailey sends GETAWEAPON straight over hurdles after such a promising bumper debut at Chepstow. She pushed yesterday’s well regarded winner Seelotmorebusiness all the way only to get collared late on but had many well fancied rivals in behind. The form looks strong and I would have said she could easily play a part in a Mares Listed bumper somewhere in the next few months. With that in mind, it has to be interesting that Bailey sends her straight over hurdles at Hereford today. It looks a two horse race on paper and the experience that Loughan has could prove crucial but there is a degree of star quality about Getaweapon and in receipt of weight I would hope she is more than good enough to go in here.
I can’t get enough of the Getaways today as I also fancy GETAROUND at Lingfield. Ella Pickard’s stable star found the Persian War over 2m 3f all too much but still ran a respectable fourth. He looks much more comfortable over 3 miles as his facile success at Exeter suggests and he should be well suited to the test he is faced with today. The talented yet frustrating, As I See It, looks to be his main rival but he never runs two races the same so I’m not going to run away from him. He does have quite a task conceding so much weight to more experienced rivals but Bryan Carver’s claim negates some of his burden and I think he will be up to winning this.
Hereford 12.37 – Getaweapon
Lingfield 3.23 – Getaround
