By the time this goes live, I think we may
have missed the price on LORD BADDESLEY.
He opened up 6/1 and by the time I went to bed last night he was already 11/4.
But, I still think he is worth a punt as his bumper form is pretty strong and
I’d say he would be one of only a few of these to handle the forecast bad
ground.
He
ran second in what turned out to be a strong bumper at Worcester on debut and
wasn’t seen again until he ran at Kempton. They went a farcical pace that day
and he did very well considering he was held up at the back of the field. What
was clear to me that day was that he had a bit of a knee action and therefore
should be able to handle softer ground. With heavy rain forecast at Fontwell
this morning, I can’t see the ground being any better than soft and most of his
rivals would seem to prefer a better surface.
Chris Gordon
usually sends his better ones to Fontwell/Plumpton for their first runs and
therefore I think he is the play here and rates a confident selection.
