A busy Monday up and down the land with three
good cards for punters to devour. I’ve got a selection from each meeting
starting with LOVE DREAMS at
Windsor.
It was only 12
months ago that this horse was a bold front runner trained by Mark Johnston who
boasted a mark of 97 and had a career high mark of 106 just 12 months before
that. He lines up today off a mark of 83 and with Meg Nicholls taking a further
3lbs off he looks incredibly well in to me. I was kicking myself for not
backing him last time at Newbury when he travelled into the race nicely and
pushed two next time out winners all the way to the line. Those three pulled
nicely clear which bodes well and my selection shoud come on for that. At 8/1 I
think he is belting each way play.
Up at Ayr, I am
interested in the chances of NODDYOLDER who
has been crying out for a step up in trip. Tim Easterby was very complimentary
of him in a pre-season stable tour and he has caught my eye the past twice as
he has stayed on strongly over 6f both times. He will prefer this better
surface today and I will be amazed if he doesn’t end up being better than a
mark of 65. It’s also probably worth noting that he is being backed as I write
this.
You always need a
bit of luck on the all weather with regards to the pace and I will probably
need a slice tonight with MAYSON MOUNT.
I thought Shaun Keightley’s charge wasn’t seen to best effect last time at
Chelmsford when caught out back in a muddling race. He still stayed on nicely
to finish third and that was enough to suggest he should be winning off his
current mark. His trainer has a good strike rate at Kempton and teams up to
good effect with Josie Gordon so everything points towards a big run.
Windsor 2.10 – Love Dreams – 1pt e/w
Ayr 2.20 – Noddyolder – 1pt win
Kempton 8.15 – Mayson Mount – 0.5pts e/w
