Elliott yet to decide Samcro’s next move

Trainer Gordon has admitted Samcro’s future plans remain up in the air but he says he would love to win a .

The six-year-old was very impressive last season as a novice hurdler, winning each of his first four starts.


The Gigginstown House Stud-owned chestnut gelding suffered his first defeat during the Champion Hurdle and have since kept their plans under wraps.


A career over fences is still on the agenda but Elliott admits he would like to win a Champion Hurdle with his stable star.


He told : “It’s still up in the air at the moment, to be honest.


“He’s in good form and cantering away. He won’t be doing a fast bit of work maybe for another month.


“Obviously at some stage I’ll have to sit down and talk to Michael and Eddie (O’Leary, owners) and we’ll make a decision.


“I’d love to win a Champion Hurdle, but I only train the horse, I don’t own him. I’ll have to talk to the lads and see what they want to do.


“I’d love to win a Champion Hurdle, that’s all I can say.”
