Trainer Richard Hannon has confirmed Billesdon Brook will head to Ascot this month for the Coronation Stakes.
Billesdon Brook shocked the racing world when landing the Qipco 1000 Guineas Stakes at Newmarket in May at 66-1 and that success has opened up numerous opportunities for the filly.
Connections were contemplating taking the three-year-old to Chantilly for the Prix de Diane but, after discussions involving the syndicate Pall Mall Partners, Hannon has revealed his charge will be heading to Berkshire.
Speaking in his Unibet blog, he said: “It wasn’t a particularly difficult decision and Jeanette McCreery spoke to all the Pall Mall Partners, who were in agreement that the trip around Ascot on good ground will suit her better than Chantilly, where it can often come up soft and it’s over further.
“The filly is absolutely fine and will have a good piece of work this weekend. The recent good weather has really helped her develop in confidence and she couldn’t be in any better form.”
