Connections were delighted by the performance of Laugh Aloud, who was an impressive winner of the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom.
The Godolphin-owned filly was always handy as James Doyle bided his time in a race that was led by Tisbutadream in the early stages.
Absolute Blast then moved into contention before John Gosden‘s charge raced to the front to pull off a five-length victory in the Group Three showpiece.
The daughter of Dubawi showed a superb turn of pace when asked and Doyle feels she is now ready to step up in class.
“She was impressive, when I let her go she travelled into it so well and scampered up the hill – it felt good,” he said.
“She’s deserves a crack at it (Group One) now, she’s going in the right direction and that was pretty authoritative.”
And Gosden was equally gushing in is praise, adding: “She is a lovely filly that is getting better and stronger with age. She has learnt to settle a bit more in her mind.
“Today we thought there might be pace and I said to James to sit off it and let them fight it out and come with a late run.
“That bodes well if we are going to Ascot for the Duke of Cambridge, which is a stiff mile. I am great believer of going one step at a time. This was a Group Three and that is a Group Two. She is as wide as she is tall and is very strong now.”
