Jockey Barry Geraghty has confirmed he should be out of action for 12 weeks after breaking his arm in the Irish Grand National.
The 37-year-old was hoping to end the jumps season on a high after only just recovering from a serious injury.
Geraghty suffered a punctured lung and broken ribs after falling at Kempton in February and he was unable to compete at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
JP McManus‘ retained jockey returned to action a few weeks ago but he broke his arm when falling off Minella Foru on Monday afternoon.
Confirming his injury, he was quoted on the At The Races website saying: “I’ve broken my left humerus and will have it plated today.
“I’d expect to be off for 10 to 12 weeks.”
