Willie Mullins says Annie Power‘s recovery from injury is going well and he is confident she will run at the Punchestown Festival.
The nine-year-old missed the chance to defend her Champion Hurdle title at Cheltenham after suffering a leg injury at Mullins‘ stable and had been rated as doubtful to run again this season.
Despite being without his star mare, Mullins still enjoyed a positive Festival, winning six races, and has now delivered fitness updates on all the victors plus Annie Power.
“They have come out of the Festival very well,” he told the Irish Independent. “Also Annie Power could run at Punchestown. We step up work in the next couple of weeks.
“Min is just OK, Annie is in better order.”
Annie Power missed last year’s big meeting at Punchestown but will be a formidable foe should she run this year, having never lost in her three previous outings at the venue.
