Willie Mullins says he is still to decide if Yorkhill will run again before Cheltenham.
Despite again noticeably jumping left, last year’s Neptune Novice’s Hurdle hero backed up December’s win at Fairyhouse with a comfortable victory under Ruby Walsh at Leopardstown on Sunday to justify his status as the odds-on pre-race favourite.
Plans are now afoot for a return to the Festival, with the JLT believed to be his most likely target.
Mullins says he will take his time on choosing his charge’s next outing, admitting that he is undecided on whether or not send him straight to Cheltenham.
“I’ll get him home now and see,” the champion trainer said. “I’ll have a chat with Ruby to see whether he wants to go again with him (before Cheltenham). Experience is no harm for those novice chasers.
“I’m not trying to interfere with his jumping much and I’m hoping with more experience on the track he’ll get out of that habit. He makes enough ground jumping and he’s got a good engine so I’m not inclined to interfere with him much.”
