Venetia Williams believes Aso could return to Cheltenham for the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup next month after a strong run on Saturday.
After finishing fourth to Taquin Du Seuil in the BetVictor Gold Cup at Prestbury Park in his first outing since April, connections are now considering the next option for the six-year-old.
Having been impressed with his efforts over the weekend, Williams feels the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup on December 10 is an option, meaning a return to Cheltenham could be imminent.
She told At The Races: “He ran very well. You have to be pleased with what he did. He jumped very well but he met the last on an awkward stride, which made it very difficult for him.
“There’s every chance he’ll go back for the Caspian Caviar at Cheltenham in December.”
