Jockey Kate Harrington hopes Modem will cope with a quick turnaround for the Guinness Galway Hurdle on Thursday.
The five-year-old put in a fine performance to claim the feature race on day one of the Galway Festival in the two-mile Connacht Hotel Qualified Riders’ Handicap.
Harrington was delighted with the win and now hopes Modem will be fit and ready to go again in Thursday’s Guinness Galway Hurdle.
She said: “You need some luck in this race, but I jumped out and got a perfect position. Hopefully he’ll run on Thursday and he’d have a right chance.
“I always dreamt one day I would win this race, but I can’t believe it’s happened.”
