Sole Power has suffered a minor foot injury and will miss out on the Pearl Bloodstock Palace House Stakes at Newmarket.
The talented sprinter was set to defend his title on Saturday at Newmarket but an injury setback has scuppered any chance of making it three straight wins in the event.
Bookmaker Paddy Power, who is the son of the owner Sebena, has now confirmed Sole Power is likely to be given a run out at Ascot on May 23 instead.
He said: “He won’t be running on Saturday, but it’s nothing too serious, thankfully.
“I think he’s basically done the equivalent of standing on a thorn and he probably could run, but there’s no point in putting him through any pain at this stage.
“I’d say he’ll probably go to Haydock now for the Temple Stakes before he heads back to Ascot.”
