Aintree run for New One

Trainer has confirmed that will try to defend his Hurdle title on April 9.

The seven-year-old won the Grade 1 race last year after defeating second-placed and the victory started off a successful run for the bay gelding.


The New One recorded wins at , and two at in what was a very successful time on the course but the recent outing was disappointing to say the least.


The bay gelding was fancied to challenge for the at Prestbury Park on but never really got into the race, finishing a poor fifth behind winner .


Twiston-Davies admitted the display was frustrating but the trainer insists the team are not too down, confirming The New One’s entry for the Aintree Hurdle.


“We were just a little bit disappointed on the day, but he’s fine,” he said. “He’ll go to Aintree for the two and a half miler again.”
