Trainer Tim Doyle feels conditions should suit Mallowney when he runs in the Paddy Power Your Local Betting Shop Chase at Naas.
The nine-year-old is set to race in the Grade Two contest on Sunday after scoring at Fairyhouse back in January.
The son of Oscar was also a runner up at Cork on December 7 and finished fourth at Gowran Park on his seasonal reappearance on November 22.
He was beaten by Twinlight over Christmas and will now receive weight from Willie Mullins' charge, and Doyle hopes that he can take advantage of favourable ground and weight this weekend.
“He's in good form and there are a lot of positives to take,” he said. “He was beaten by Twinlight at Leopardstown over Christmas but now gets 5lb, which puts him above everything on ratings, and he also likes Naas.
“I've been happy with him since his win the last day and we're hoping he can put two good runs together now.
“He's best with cut in the ground and I'm not looking much beyond Sunday with him but, bar something exceptional happening, he won't be going to Cheltenham.”
