When I first started working on racecourses The Cheltenham Festival was the meeting all the staff looked forward to. There may have been a fiver or tenner bonus here or there during the year, but this was the meeting where you got the big bucks, excuse the pun. When I worked with Jack Lynn then Dave Phillips both firms bet in Lower Tatts, it was heaving. The clerks could hardly keep up with the bets, yes clerks, the Lynns used two it was so busy.
