Newbury hoping Saturday’s card can beat the freeze

Frost and snow have wiped out today’s turf meetings but Newbury are cautiously optimistic that Saturday’s card can beat the current freeze with temperatures forecast to rise later in the week. The big betting race is the Betfair Hurdle and Calipto currently heads the market at 9/2 with BetVictor with Activial 7s and Sign Of A Victory 12s.

Grand National hope Teaforthree to feature at Warwick

Warwick passed an 8am inspection and we have a cracking card to look forward to including the Hunter Chase debut of Teaforthree (3.50) who is currently 25/1 for the Grand National at Aintree in the spring. The horse finished third behind Aurora’s Encore in the 2013 National but was not at his best in the 2014 renewal when he unseated at the Chair.

Today’s BetVictor sponsored card from Ayr survived an 8am inspection. There is a cracking handicap chase over the minimum trip to open the card and Trust Thomas (12.40) can go one better than when runner up at Newcastle last time from a 3lb lower mark.
