Young jockey George Rooke has left his position in Lambourn with Richard Hughes to head to the other side of the world. Now I understand Kevin Stott is following, at least for the next few months, and William Cox has also headed down to Australia for a few months of sunshine and employment. I remember Michael Channon (son of Mick) saying that he earned more as a stable hand in Australia than he did as assistant trainer here.
