Participation denied to the distin-guished French geldings Goliath and Candagan in the forthcoming Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe has kick started the debate. They, like their gelded compatriot of recent memory, Cirrus des Aigles, are sufficiently talented to have added another dimension to the race.
