A frustrating Day 1 at York‘s Ebor meeting for this column where all the selections ran well but we didn’t manage to find a winner. Today is a lot quieter in terms of the amount of tips but I’m hoping for quality over quantity.
I saw enough in BLUE FOR YOU’s last run to suggest he is still more than capable of winning off his current mark and his form in the book backs that up. He has ran well here at his favourite course off marks in the 100’s in the past but now just below 100 he looks to have a realistic chance in this competitive handicap. Unsuited by track position at Goodwood he still made plenty of ground up which showed the good heart he is in and now back at the scene of his most recent success I think he has an outstanding chance today.
Later on the card I thought MISS INFORMATION could be a good jolly to get on as she was a big eye catcher at Goodwood last time out. Left on the same mark the handicapper has taken a different opinion to me and being a three year old in this field she receives a nice 5lb pull anyway. Her form suggests she is on a steep upward curve at present and visually she has always impressed me. The quick ground will be right up her street and a low draw will certainly aid her chance.
