Richard Eagle catches up with emerging trainer Tom Ward in Lambourn

At the age of 12 most young lads have little idea of what they are looking for as a future career. Not so with Tom Ward. Going to school with the sons of the legendary Robert Sangster may have pushed training racehorses into his mindset.
Later his ambition was to grow when, as an amateur jockey, he rode a few winners over the jumps but there was a hankering, even back then, that he would have his own stables and train winners.
