Alex Gifford reckons Hewick will be ready and refreshed for the National after his Gold Cup absence
Shark Hanlon’s stablestar Hewick goes to the Grand National a fresh horse after being pulled out of the Cheltenham Gold Cup due to unsuitable ground.
Hewick was 33/1 shot with BoyleSports as the Festival ran in heavy going having been allotted top weight for the Aintree blockbuster.
Hanlon said: “After walking the track we decided Hewick would not run in the Gold Cup. While this is disappointing, we are doing what’s best for the horse.
“He’ll go to Aintree a fresh horse and we can’t wait to see...
