After a busy couple of weeks becoming a Father for the first time I am now back on the daily tips. It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks and I certainly could do with a few extra hours sleep. I’m sneaking off to Ludlow today so if you are attending you may find me having a quick snooze on the back row of the stand.
Hopefully I’ve found a few to keep me awake and the first runs in the first. I think the market is all wrong here as I make GENTLEMAN JACQUES and Lindy Reilly the two most likely winners. Both ran here last time out and it was Dan Skelton‘s newcomer who came out on top, just, by staying on from a long way back on debut. That was partly because the selection made a right mess of the last which emptied him out. Prior to that he was well involved in the finish with two smart types and a repeat of that run, with Harry Cobden now in the plate, would see him go close here.
I managed to catch MALAITA at 7/2 last night and her price has quite rightly collapsed over night. On form she is the obvious pick here and I couldn’t work out why some firms were offering such generous odds about a mare who has been consistent this year. A lot of her rivals have question marks hanging over their heads and I wouldn’t be trusting many of them today.
MONKS MEADOW should finally have his day today after knocking on the door all season. This would be one of, if not the easiest task he has faced to date and I expect him to finally shed his maiden tag. His trainer should double up in the last with CANTY BAY who in my eyes should be favourite. An improved horse this season his form stands up to close inspection and his run at Lingfield last time out is really tidy form. A repeat of that performance should see him take this.
Ludlow 1.55 – Gentleman Jacques
Ludlow 2.25 – Malaita
Ludlow 4.05 – Monks Meadow
Ludlow 5.15 – Canty Bay
