It looks like an interesting card at Ludlow today and I expect a few nice horses to come out of the meeting. I’m hopeful that one of those is BABY SAGE who impressed me greatly when scooting clear in a bumper at Warwick last season. Alan King‘s mare then went on to finish down the field at Aintree but I’m happy to forgive her that as she is open to any amount of improvement now going hurdling over this longer trip. King is a master at training similar types and he looks to have found her a nice opportunity to get her head in front here.
Later on the card I’m hopeful that LA RENOMMEE can put her chasing experience to good use as she faces a strong yet inexperienced field. She seemed to excel around this track last season and I always felt like there was more to come from her so with another summer’s grass on her back I think she could improve again this term. I think she should be favourite here.
Ludlow 4.05 – Baby Sage
Ludlow 4.40 – La Renommee
