Frankie Dettori will continue riding on the international circuit, here’s your chance to see him at the 2024 Dubai World Cup
With entries from Europe, Asia and America, the Dubai World Cup has been a pillar of international racing since its inception in 1996.
The top-tier of global racing arrive in pursuit of a $12m feature race prize. Many, though, are equally enticed by a supporting card of several G1s. International spectators, too, are plentiful. And, arranging tickets on direct flights from the UK to the UAE, Racing Breaks have years of experience in providing stress-free travel for British visitors.
Trusted by thousands, and rated excellent on Trustpilot, the company is preparing to bring a batch of firsttime and return customers to the Middle East in March. With Frankie Dettori ready to continue riding only on the international circuit, the Dubai World Cup could be one of your only opportunities to catch up with him next year. Dettori helped found Racing Breaks, and he has been a regular face on the company’s trips since. This includes the annual Racing Breaks journey to Dubai, where Dettori meets guests at the Racing Breaks Drinks Evening, held in Dubai during the run up to racing.
An exclusive stable tour, and your chance to meet racing royalty
Guests on next year’s Racing Breaks trip will be chaperoned by the charismatic face of Derek ‘Tommo’ Thompson. A regular in Dubai, having visited on over a hundred occasions, Tommo worked with Sheikh Muhammed to help establish this meeting. Tommo will give Racing Breaks guests a tour of Zabeel Stables, the base of top trainer Bhupat Seemar. Under the towers of Dubai’s city centre, invitees will be shown the yard’s pool, stalls, and canter. Last year’s guests posed questions to Seemar, and also met the UAE’s champion jockey, Tadhg O’Shea.
Last year, Tommo was also present on Friday evening, when Rishi Persad and Tom Stanley formed a presenting trio at the Racing Breaks Drinks Evening, held at the 5* Ritz Carlton Jumeirah Beach. Racing Breaks ambassadors Frankie Dettori and Jim Crowley joined the panel, talking through their rides the next day, and taking questions from the audience. The evening even saw a surprise appearance from footballing megastar Michael Owen.
Your ticket and hospitality options at Meydan Racecourse
The size of Meydan Racecourse impresses even seasoned attendees. Apron View tickets are included as standard with Racing Breaks experiences, but you’ll want to ask Racing Breaks for an upgrade to make the most of your evening. With Premium tickets, you overlook the finishing line, enjoying dinner on tables inside and out.
The Cigar Suite, meanwhile, sits on the fifth floor of the grandstand, and rewards you with views of the paddock and entry to the ground-floor Parade Ring Lounge. With direct access from the entrance, though, why not go for the Dubai Lounge Restaurant? This offers a sweeping panorama of the course, along with all-important free-flowing champagne.
Add an excursion to your trip
Racing Breaks experiences all include four nights bed and breakfast accommodation, leaving you with plenty of time to explore Dubai: a continually evolving destination. Relax on the beach, or put your name down for some of their four optional excursions. Unwind at Topgolf, with three restaurants and a view of Dubai Marina. For an even better view, jump aboard the Ain Dubai (Dubai’s ‘London Eye’) for a 38-minute, fully air-conditioned spin.
RACING BREAKS

From the Ain Dubai, you’ll look over to the Burj Khalifa: the world’s tallest skyscraper. How about taking a trip to the Burj Khalifa’s 125th fl oor? Whisked up on some of the world’s fastest lifts, you’ll step onto an observation deck that reaches across the city skyline to the deserts of Arabia. Join Racing Breaks on a voyage into the sunset, when you’ll be picked up from your hotel in a 4×4 that drives you through dunes to a Bedouin camp. Here, dinner is served, there’s a belly dancing display, and you’re given the opportunity to try your hand at camel riding.
Stay in a brand-new addition to Dubai’s luxury landscape
It’s just over six months since infl u-encers and world media were being flown in to watch Beyoncé open the 5* Atlantis The Royal Hotel. Billed as ‘the most ultra-luxury experimental resort in the world’, this is a new addition to Dubai’s world-famous Palm Jumeirah resort. With pools and a spa, the hotel includes restaurants curated by the likes of Gordon Ramsey and Heston Blumenthal. Along the Jumeirah seafront, Racing Breaks also keep rooms in the 5* Mariott Resort Palm (all rooms have a private balcony, and there’s a beachside pool), as well as in the aforementioned 5* Ritz Carlton Jumeirah Beach, which nestles among tropical gardens, fountains, and palm trees.
For more central accommodation, the 5* JW Marriott Marquis is perfect. Shared between two towers, the pool looks towards the sea one way, and towards the Burj Khalifa the other. Many rooms also face Godolphin’s Dubai headquarters… but for ultimate racing immersion, you’ll need to ask Racing Breaks for a room in the 5* Meydan Hotel. Overlooking Meydan Racecourse, and serving as an extension of its grandstand, there’s an infinity pool on the hotel roof, complimenting the usual selection of bars and restaurants. Make sure you’re up early to catch morning exercise. Racing’s biggest stars – equine and human – are working just below your window.
