Bens Friday & Saturdays Tips

HIGHWAY GREY has been shaping recently like he is about to come back into his best form and a drop into lower grade might just be what he needs to get his head back in front. He caught my eye in the Zetland last time out when finishing in behind some smart, progressive rivals. On his day he can be quite destructive granted the right conditions, which he should get today, so at 14/1 he edges the vote as Friday’s best bet.

1.50 – Highwaygrey

Saturday

The 3.40 at York is a valuable sprint handicap for 3 year olds and is often won by one who progresses to be a good one and there could be any number of those in here. One I quite like is RABAAH for and Jim Crowley who have enjoyed so much success with their sprinters in recent seasons. This lad returned at where he might just have needed the run and if coming on for that and returning to the form where he hosed up on the all weather earlier in the year then I think he is no 11/1 shot.

My best bet of the day has to be ROMAN DRAGON at however. ‘s charge shaped as if the drop to 6f is just what he needed last time out when just fading over 7f. He has a great course and distance record and has maximum help from the saddle with James Doyle booked to ride. The race also represents a drop in grade so I can’t really see a negative for him.

York 3.40 – Rabaah

Chester 4.30 – Roman Dragon
