Bens Friday & Saturday Tips

Friday

I was very taken by PERSIAN DREAMER at on debut and I think the 7/4 is plenty big enough for what I think she might be. Her trainer has spoken highly of her and although I am weary of the effect I think she’s one of the best two year old fillies about.

KINONDO KWETU was a tad an unlucky last time at as he just had too much ground to make up on the eventual winner but he ran a great race all the same. The handicapper has left him on the same mark and I think that is quite lenient. He has the burden of top weight here but he has that for a reason so he should go close.

York 1.50 – Persian Dreamer

Aintree 7.40 – Kinondo Kwetu

Saturday

A busy day Saturday with the high quality stuff taking place at but my eye is drawn to some good handicaps at the other tracks.

unleashes POWERDRESS in a handicap after her disappointing effort in the Guineas which could be blamed on a number of things. I’m inclined to forgive her that effort as her first two efforts suggested she was a lot better than a mark of 88.

I expect MONTASSIB to be popular at Newmarket after his finishing effort at last time out. He flew from the back of the pack in a race where it was a huge advantage to be up the front so that effort has to be marked up considerably.

ANOTHER BATT continues in good form and much better form than his form figures suggest. He hasn’t had much go his way so far this season but a low draw back at his favourite track could mean his luck is about to change.

The ultra consistent LEAP ABROAD looks certain to win a handicap or two this season and the 7lb claim of Mohammed Tabti is proving very useful. I expect the form of his last run to work out well and his 4th placed effort should be good enough to go very close here.

Newmarket 3.15 – Powerdress

Newmarket 3.50 – Montassib

4.17 – Another Batt

Newbury 5.18 – Leap Abroad
