Saturday
It’s probably going to be a quiet Saturday afternoon punting wise with Cheltenham around the corner but I will be keeping an eye on a few and if they open a good price I will certainly be getting involved.
First up is HEAD LAW at Newbury. I had him down as a bit of a handicapper to follow this season but after a promising enough reappearance he completely bombed out last time at Huntingdon. I think he is a lot better than that and he might just show his true running on his third start of the season. It isn’t a deep race so 8/1 and above looks a good price.
I really fancied DEERE MARK for the Betfair Hurdle so I can’t see any reason why I shouldn’t fancy him here. I worry he doesn’t find much in front but I anticipate at least one of these should be able to take him a long way here. He won the race in which Head Law ran in on his reappearance and he won it cosy really. I think he has plenty in hand but obviously he needs the race to fall right. I think it could do again at 8/1 plus he looks good value.
Newbury 3.25 – Head Law
Kelso 1.50 – Deere Mark
