WEAVER’S ANSWER looks to have been the beneficiary of a lenient bit of handicapping as an opening mark of 78 looks certain to be taken advantage of sooner rather than later. In all of his qualifying runs he has finished behind some really progressive horses. Ok, he was beat comfortably but I always take note of those horses. Even his bumper run behind Tahmuras would suggest a mark of 78 is very lenient. A clear second behind a progressive stable mate on handicap debut looks even better when you factor in the horse who finished third has won 3 times since. I’m sure this is a lot better horse than 78 and I hope he can show it at Ludlow today.
The 3.35 at Ludlow looks a weak race and the only horse that has any sort of form in my eyes is BORN AT MIDNIGHT and I expect him to get his head back in front today. Bill Turner has a good record at Ludlow and knows the time of day at this standard of racing. He has a reasonably progressive profile and a repeat of his previous Ludlow performances would see him win this.
