Friday
After a short break at the start of the week, I feel refreshed and ready to attack the Spring, in particular Cheltenham. One horse I had in mind at the Festival is PANIC ATTACK who I thought might be a decent bet in the Kim Muir. Connections may head that way but let her line up at Warwick today in a Mares Handicap chase. Her form puts her in with a great chance and I think the step up to 3 miles should bring about more improvement. She plugged on quite strongly last time over 2m 4f in a hot race and I think that form should see her win today.
Warwick 3.35 – Panic Attack
Saturday
Surprisingly I’ve found a couple of good bets for Saturday, which is normally a quiet day given its proximity to Cheltenham. I wouldn’t put anyone off sticking these in some sort of Trixie or patent to gain maximum rewards.
First up is SCRIPTWRITER who I think is head and shoulders above these. I quite fancy him for the Triumph but he is quirky in the fact he needs to hit the front late. I’m hoping at a speed orientated track like Kempton could suit him as he can be delivered late and has less time to think about things. At 2/1 he seems a value bet to me.
Similar comments apply to BOOTHILL who looked tapped for toe at Doncaster last time out so the step up in trip should suit him here. Connections will be eyeing a trip to Aintree after this and I expect him to be hard to beat at a track where he has shown good form before.
My biggest fancy of the weekend has to be KITTY’S LIGHT who I have been waiting for for some time now. Christian Williams has been pretty shrewd with how he has campaigned his young staying chaser. For the last few seasons he has been running well off big weights in the best handicaps but Williams has managed to get him down to a mark of 132 which looks incredibly dangerous now he is stepped up to this marathon trip. I’m sure he will be tuned up for this and at 11/4 he looks like banker material.

Kempton 2.25 – Boothill
Newcastle 3.25 – Kitty’s Light
