Saturday
Alan King has made a great start to the season so far and I can see it getting a lot better soon as he has a good chance of landing a big Saturday winner. CALL OF THE WILD certainly looked like a horse to follow last year when winning 2 of his 4 starts and finishing a close second and third in his other two. The Summer break has apparently done him the world of good and a handicap mark of 130 certainly looks well within his grasp on his first start in such company. 5/1 looks a fair price and I’m looking for a big run.
Up at Wetherby, NINA THE TERRIER looks primed to run a big race in the Listed Mares Hurdle. This has been her target for a while according to King and I can see her being suited to the demands of this track. She’s in deep with regards company but she has the advantage of a run under her belt in a race which has worked out well since. I’m hoping that race fitness can make all the difference.
