The likeable WHAT’S THE STORY seems to be back in form and down to a mark he should be able to do some damage off. He ran a fine race at Ayr last time and a return to his favourite track might just see him go one place better.
I’m hoping POGO gets an easy enough time on the front end at Newmarket today as I think he is the one to beat. Sacred has the sexier profile and running style but the selection has beat her twice this year and I can’t see why the form will be reversed here with conditions set to suit the selection.
The Old Rowley Cup looks a really tough race to find the winner of and I’m having two punts at it. PARADIAS looks the typical Alan King improver and the step up to 1m 4f on good ground should bring about further improvement.
He has to reverse the form with CAUIS CHORISTER who is the other selection in the race and between the two I’m hoping I’ve got the race covered. David Meneusier’s horse impressed me when finishing second at York and his form prior to that run was that of a progressive horse. He should appreciate the the return to a faster surface after a slightly disappointing run last time out. At 12/1 he looks a sound each way play.
York 2.40 – What’s The Story
Newmarket 3.00 – Pogo
Newmarket 4.10 – Paradias / Cauis Chorister

I’m pretty sure GULLIVER’s turn is not too far away despite a disappointing run in the Ayr Gold Cup last time out. His run previous to that at the Curragh was very encouraging and showed he still has plenty of life left in him. Any rain that falls will suit him and I’m more than hopeful he can return each way backers.
The big race at Newmarket looks wide open this year and I could make a shortlist of 10 horses quite easy. One I do think that is overpriced is PRINCE IMPERIAL who looks to have been laid out for this race and didn’t harm his chance by finishing second here in the trial. That run would have bought him on again and I’m sure he will be better suited to the big field here.
York 3.15 – Gulliver
Newmarket 3.40 – Prince Imperial
