It’s a good weekend of action ahead and one certainly to look forward to. Action kicks off today at Haydock and Ascot and my best bet today comes from Haydock.
STREET LIFE showed himself to be in good form on Monday when winning a shady cosy at Southwell. This course and distance winner certainly has the ability to win a race of this nature but he is sometimes hard to catch right but given he showed his well being on Monday I think this might be the time to catch him. 10/1 is a fair price for a horse with this profile in this race.

Saturday
It was tough to find selections for Saturday as there are two or three in each of the big races that I could back but I’ve tried to narrow it down.
ARATUS shaped like his turn wasn’t too far away when finishing on top of the near side group over course and distance last time out. To be fair he hasn’t been too lucky with the draw here at Ascot this season and the law of chance surely must mean he is on the right side sooner rather than later. Undoubtedly talented, he has the ability to win this race and having been dropped two pound for his good run last time out he looks a sound each way bet in an open race.
If I was to price up the 4.55 at Ascot I certainly wouldn’t have SILVER SAMURAI at 9/1. Marco Botti’s likeable grey has been in fine form this year and has shaped on one or two occasions like he has more to give including last time out at York. The red hot favourite in this race has it all to do in my view and is definitely a horse I am taking on with an experienced, classy handicapper. The 9/1 could be a steal.
