An informative weekend awaits as we edge closer to Royal Ascot and I for one will be watching the action looking for clues. One horse who has been on my radar for a few weeks now is GO BEARS GO after his impressive performance at Ascot on season debut. David Loughnane’s star two year old showed plenty of quality that day but also plenty of guts which is what I like to see in a sprinter. He was well on top at the line and it was a race which could have been a potential banana skin so he did well to win as well as he did. Tomorrow’s Sandy Lane stakes will be a tougher race but I think he has the necessary class to go and win again.
Later on the card I think MOSSBAWN could be the bet in the 4.55 despite an off day last time out. He finished dead last at York which was a performance just too bad to be true and he is better judged by his run at Redcar when he finished third which further enhanced his progresssive profile which he developed last season. I think there is still mileage in his current mark and he could go off at a tasty price with a big fat egg next to his name.
Up at York I think the same connections could enjoy further success with the in form ANOTHER BATT who should get an easy time of it on the front end. His run last week at Thirsk is good form I think and although he has to reverse the form with Northern Express I do think the easy lead he will get here will help him to do just that. He travelled strongly last week and providing we don’t get too much rain I think he will go close.
