An opening mark of 122 for DEEPER BLUE certainly looks lenient considering how well he ran last time out against a potential top notcher. Stage Star is a well regarded type for Paul Nicholls and has since gone in again so the fact the selection got so close to him at Chepstow must bode well. The third horse has also gone in since so the form has a really strong look to it. With a pronounced knee action the soft ground today should be to his liking and I am expecting a big run on handicap debut.
