I’m more than happy to forgive AJERO for a below par run on his return at Ascot last time out. The ground was far softer than ideal and his low knee action means he needs genuine good ground to be seen at his best. Plenty seem to have forgotten what he had achieved last season as he opened up 13/2 last night but ‘shrewdies’ will know that Kim Bailey isn’t one to tilt at windmills so the fact he let the selection take his chance in a Grade 1 novice hurdle last season suggests he thinks plenty of him. A drop in the weights brings him dangerously close to the mark where he hacked up over course and distance last season and if he can find that level of form again he will take some beating.
