HORTZADAR isn’t one to hang your hat on but a recent second in a hot race suggests he is close to getting his head back in front. He won at this meeting last year which bodes well and his mark is now 1lb lower which gives him an obvious chance on paper. It’s a good little race for a Wednesday afternoon and quite competitive but at 12/1 I think the selection should give us a spin for our money.
I’ve thought for a long time that SINGLE will just fall into one of these races and I think today might be the day. Mick Channon’s filly is a tough sort who is guaranteed to stay the trip which can’t be said for all of her opponents. She has held her form well all season and although her mark is about right I think her ability to stay well should hand her a definitive advantage. Again, at a double figure price, I’m willing to take a punt.
Goodwood 1.45 – Hortzadar
