You probably won’t see a more condensed handicap on a Monday afternoon than the 4.55 at Newcastle today. Just 5lbs separate 8 of the 10 runners so it’s a tough one to solve. I’m siding with RAYMOND who tends to save his best for Newcastle and with his yard in a fine vein of form at present he looks a sound each way play at 6/1. A 4th placed finish here in the Northumberland Vase has been followed by some below par efforts but I’m hopeful the return to this surface might just bring about an upturn in form. He has to reverse the form with Margaret Dumont from that Vase effort but she doesn’t win very often so I’m hopeful that is possible.
