The price has undoubtedly gone about ONASSIS now but if you’re sitting on a 14/1 bet slip like myself then you would have to admit she has a much better chance than that. Charlie Fellowes’ classy filly loves a bit of cut in the ground and she will certainly get that here today. Another big plus is that 7f is her optimum trip and after being run off her feet at York last time out she will definitely appreciate the step back up to 7f. Her course and distance form is another plus and the only downside to her is that she will need the breaks from her likely position at the rear of the field but at the price I was happy to take a chance on her.
PERCY’S PRIDE looks to be on an upward curve which could look pretty steep if she can win again today. Prior to her win at Chelmsford, her form looked strong but until she got that first win you are always weary. She showed plenty of guts and stamina at Ascot last time out when her and the second pulled well clear so she will definitely be up for the fight today. Her ability to stay further should be a positive in this ground and a light weight will also help her when in full flight up the straight.
