The evergreen NICHOLAS T must have a chance at Ayr today despite the trip perhaps being on the short side. He took out the Northumberland Plate two runs back and he would really prove just what an amazing horse he is if he could go and win over a mile today as not many horses are that versatile in regards trip. I think he has a definite chance as a lot of his rivals are on recovery missions and given how much he loves Ayr, you would be silly to write him off. If it turns into a stiff mile, which it can do at Ayr, then I want this lad on my side.
With the World Matchplay starting over the weekend, VAN GERWEN, would be an apt winner at Beverley this evening. Paul Midgley’s sprinter seems to have shown some of his best form here at Beverley and he really appreciates a strong pace to run at. The stiff 5f here seems to bring out the best in him and at 16/1 I think he is worth some each way support.
