The price has completely gone for DIDTHEYLEAVEUOUTTO but the shrewdies would have got on early and hopefully got a decent price about him. A mark of 63 looks almost too good to be true but after a couple inauspicious runs I am confident that he is a lot better than his mark. It’s worth remembering this horse won a listed bumper a few years ago and also scaled the handicap ranks to reach 139. His turn of foot was lethal over jumps and his love of good ground should stand him in good stead today. The race he ran in at Leicester last time out has worked out well and if you watch it back you will see the selection tank Josie Gordon into 5th place despite her best efforts to stay hidden. He ran the fastest final 3f that day so this step up in trip will only help and if he doesn’t win today then something would have gone wrong because he is definitely the best horse in the race.
AURIA and Creative Flair do battle again today at Newbury after the pair finished 1st and 2nd at Ascot earlier in the season. The latter came out on top that day but the former was staying on powerfully and I felt if there was another two furlongs then Andrew Balding‘s filly would have won. There is another 2f today and I think that will be enough for the selection to reverse the form.
