Hurling Magic looks an obvious selection in the opener at Ludlow for top connections but I certainly wouldn’t be rushing to back him at cramped odds. He returned off a 2 ½ year absence with a promising run at Warwick last time out and that bare form gives him a major chance here for sure. However, the bounce factor does worry me and I’ve learnt from my time in punting to never run away from one horse so I’m going to go put it up to him today and the horse I’m siding with is MASTER TEMPLAR.
Olly Murphy couldn’t be in better form at present and this lad has shaped with bundles of promise in all starts so far. He definitely looks like he will benefit from a step up in trip which he gets today but the form he has shown over 2 miles has worked out well anyway. In a race which looks a little flakey without the favourite, I think he is over priced at 4/1 and might just cause an upset.
