Tiger Roll roars to Cheltenham victory
Tiger Roll finished 18 lengths clear of Easysland to seal a fifth Cheltenham Festival triumph in the Cross Country Chase.
The 11-year-old endured a tough 2020, failing to win in four outings and coming home sixth of nine in the Flower Hill Maiden at Navan.
He was pulled up at Cheltenham in November and finished dead-last when seen earlier this term in the Ireland Boyne Hurdle.
However, Tiger Roll put those recent defeats firmly behind him with Keith Donoghue on board to score a comfortable win on Wednesday.
Donoghue, speaking to ITV Racing: “Unbelievable to come and do it again. I am speechless. Without this horse I would not be riding. Simple as that. Never underestimate Tiger, a lot of people keep underestimating him but we’ve always had faith. He loved it out there, that’s the Tiger we’ve been seeing at home. He’s just a legend.”
