Pam Sly is a force to be reckoned with at Wetherby and she has another solid chance today in the shape of HAAFAPIECE. This ex flat recruit has taken well to hurdling over the past few seasons and seems to be improving despite his advancing years. A couple of solid efforts over course and distance earlier this season teed him up at a tilt at a competitive handicap hurdle at Cheltenham. He led at the last hurdle but hit the deck leaving connections thinking what could have been but it was still a run full of promise.
A winter break ensued and he looks set for a busy spring campaign but should be fit enough to run well here. I’m expecting Shantou Express to make the running and I’m hoping the turn of foot this lad possesses might just win him the day late on.
