Cheveley Park Stud remove horses from Elliott’s stable

Cheveley Park Stud have confirmed all eight of their Gordon Elliott-trained horses are to be moved amid an investigation into the Irish trainer.

The British Horseracing Authority has banned Elliott from saddling runners in Britain while Irish authorities carry out an investigation of the Cullentra hander.

Gigginstown House Stud, run by Michael and Eddie O’Leary, have vowed to stand by Elliott, but Cheveley Park Stud have now revealed their horses will head off to the stables of Willie Mullins and Henry de Bromhead respectively.

Envoi Allen, Quilixios, Ballyadam, Malone Road and Guily Billy will move to De Bromhead’s yard while Mullins will pick up Sir Gerhard, Grangeclare West and Classic Getaway.

Confirming the news, Cheveley Park director Richard Thomspon told Sky Sports: “We made a decision this morning to move the horses from Gordon’s yard. We have eight, and they will go between Henry de Bromhead and Willie Mullins. We’re organising it right now.

“The big horse, Envoi Allen, will go to Henry with Sir Gerhard to Willie. Quilixios will go to Henry. With trainers like Henry and Willie, along with Chris [Richardson, managing director] and team, we have real professionals on the job to hopefully resolve this very quickly and for it to be very smooth. It is unfortunate timing [so close to the Cheltenham Festival].”
