Henry De Bromhead admits options are open for Jason The Militant after his searing win at Fairyhouse on Saturday.
The seven-year-old took out the rescheduled Grade Three Red Mills Trial Hurdle, belying top weight to come home first by seven and a half lengths under Rachael Blackmore.
De Bromhead has an impressive string heading to Cheltenham, namely in the opening-day feature, the Champion Hurdle, where both Honeysuckle and Aspire Tower are set to run.
Jason The Militant also has an entry but the Co. Waterford handler has hinted he could target other opportunities for this son of Sans Frontieres.
The conditions are set to decide where he goes next and his handler admits he could look for options away from the Festival, with an April trip to Aintree a likely alternative.
“He’s in the Champion Hurdle and we’ll see,” he said. “Ground is important to him, he wants a good ease and is improving all the time.
“The Aintree Hurdle is another interesting option and I have a feeling he might be better on a flatter track.”
