CRYSTAL OCEAN may be the top-rated horse in the world but he was edged out by Japan in a classic Juddmonte International at York.
The pair battled up the Knavesmire straight but the Aidan O’Brien-trained runner got the verdict by a head.
It looked as though Crystal Ocean had toughed it out but Ryan Moore’s mount nudged in front just yards from the winning post.
