MAGNA GRECIA gave Aidan O’Brien his 10th 2,000 Guineas winner with a convincing success at Newmarket.
It was a family affair as son Donnacha did the steering on the 11-2 shot who had more than two lengths in hand crossing the line. Running up the stands’ side rail proved to be a big advantage and the winner was always up with the pace there before finishing strongly.
“He’s been a very solid horse all the time and we always knew last year this was a race he could start.” O’Brien said. “It’s unbelievable.”
