ROYAL ASCOT is the best five days’ racing anywhere in Europe and one of the leading meetings in the world with eight Group 1 races spread across the meeting.
The opening day began with the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes over a mile and with no outstanding miler this year there was an open look to the betting with Benbatl the well-supported 11/4 favourite ahead of Rhododendron at 100/30 who was bidding to add to her narrow Group 1 success in the Lockinge Stakes a few weeks earlier.
